.
The Short Track Railroad is an N scale model railroad club in north San Diego County,
California, USA.
We are located in our own Section House on the grounds of the
Antique Gas and Steam
Engine Museum .
We have a nice, large and dedicated building, lots of
NTRAK modules, a permanent layout
under construction, and a great bunch of fun-loving members.
We welcome beginners, families, visitors and people of all ages. No equipment or
experience is required. All skill levels are welcome and there's always something for
everyone to do.
The Short Track Railroad is an educational organization that seeks to further the
appreciation of railroad history in the United States. Our model railroaders recreate the era
when the "Super Chief", "Daylight" and "Twentieth Century Limited" ruled the rails as the
premier pasenger trains of the nation. We tell the story of the trains from the famed "Jupiter"
steam engines of the Old West up to the modern, high-tech diesels that are in use today.
Why don't you join us for an exciting journey into the world of...N-Scale Model Railroading!
Today the Short Track Railroad consists of 30+ club members and over 40+ modules to
choose for display. You are not required to own a module to participate as a member. Many
members are proud to be NMRA members too. The railroad is displayed at many shows
through out the year. You can also visit our home layout at the Antique Gas and Steam
Engine Musueum in Vista, CA. (North Santa Fe Avenue) Stop by after 7:00 PM on any
Thursday or Saturday mornings after 9:00 AM. For additional information please email the
Short Track RR Superintendent on the 'Contact Us' page.
