| Why a Model Railroad Club at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum? |
The Short Track Railroad is one of many exhibitors at the
Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum . The Antique
Gas and Steam Engine Museum, Founded in 1969, is a
non-profit, IRS 501(C) 3 Educational Institution. As a
nonprofit, the museum; collects, preserves and displays
examples of mechanical ingenuity and crafts associated
with the early days of the American farm and rural
community. The Museum offers educational and
recreational opportunities to the public through exhibits,
demonstrations, activities and programs displaying the art
of invention fulfilling necessity. Acknowledging the past
provides direction for the future. Railroads united the Nation
in the mid 19th Century and spawned growth and
development. It seems only natural that a model railroad be
included at the AGSEM to help tell it's story.
